The Eyed Entity Project Women's Group

A women’s group exploring identity, roles, empowerment and growth.

Women often play many roles in their lives- mother, daughter, sister, partner, wife, best friend, employee, employer, caregiver…the list is endless and are often centered on our role in others’ lives. Who are we when we take away these roles? What is important to the individual woman? How does one discover what her preferences are, where her interests lie outside the roles she is assigned, and when she is free to chose what she wishes?

This group explores identity through the lens of self and group encounter. The group therapist will lead participants through experiential activities and discussion to explore different parts of the self and help participants identify their preferences, communication styles, interests, and what drives them in their lives, including where they find the most joy. Creating a group with a sense of community to provide support to each other through this work is part of the process.

Group start date will depend on interest and number of participants, and is projected to begin in Spring 2024. This is a closed group (meaning it is not drop in) and participants who will receive the most benefits from this group will not miss more than 2 sessions in the series. Location is the Tremont neighborhood of Cleveland. Cost is $40 per week. Please use the contact form on this website to express interest in this group.

Self-Revelatory Performance Based Drama Therapy Group

Self-Revelatory Performance Based Drama Therapy Group

  • Kimberly Koljat Therapy (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

Though not all drama therapy is performance-based, this 10 week workshop will allow participants to develop, create, and perform a 10 minute self-revelatory performance by the ending of the series. Participants will join in both group and individual processes of self-inquiry to identify something they’d like to present on, and will write, create and perform their piece to be witnessed by the group participants.

Developed by Renee Emunah, the chair of the Drama Therapy program at the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco, the self-revelatory performance is “a unique form of solo theatre and drama therapy in which the person creates a theatrical piece based on therapeutically working through current issues”. Through this process, participants will work collaboratively with the group leader to “unravel layers until one arrives at what is most essential, and discover where and how healing might organically occur” (Emunah, 2020).

Join us for this deeply moving, organic process this spring, 2022. Those interested are encouraged to utilize the contact form on this website.

About the presenter:

Kimberly Koljat, ILMFT-S (OH), LMFT (CA), RPT-S, RDT completed her own 10 minute self-revelatory performance and full length self-revelatory performance as part of the graduate program in Drama Therapy at the California Institute of Integral Studies. She has been trained in directing the self-rev, has been honored to witness others’ self-revs, and is honored to bring this process to Northeast Ohio.
